When the demo saves
The v0.5.0 notes added game-state saving during scene loads and automatically every minute. v0.5.1 also saves when leaving shops and the options menu. Before closing, leave a shop or options normally and allow the game time to finish its save. Do not assume every action is committed instantly.
Why progress can seem missing
Browser storage belongs to a browser profile and origin. This independently hosted player and the original itch player should be treated as different save locations; opening one is not a migration of the other. Private browsing, cleared site data, a different profile or another device can also produce a fresh start. The site does not claim cloud synchronization or cross-device recovery.
Reset carefully
Use a visible in-game new-game or reset control if your build offers it, and read its prompt. If you instead clear site data through browser settings, local progress and preferences can be lost. First check you have selected only this game’s origin, and do not clear all browsing data just to fix loading. There is no claim here of an official export/import or recovered save from another host.
